Cemetery of Chauchilla

Just 25 km southwards of Nasca you can find the cemetery of Chauchilla, a grave field of the Nasca culture. Grave robbers already have done their work. Archaeologists found mummies which very half-mummified, some with long hair and finger nails, which look in a crouched position in the direction of sunrise. Scientists guess that the different size of the graves gives information about the position of the certain family.

Buried in a crouched position they always look to to the direction of the rising sun, the east only 25 km south of Nasca there is the grave field of CHAUCHILLO. Due to the dry desert climate they are in very good conditon.
